I have been on hold as of this posting for 1 hour and 40 minutes (I know why?). Out tof principle and a strong belief in fair advertising practices I felt the need to vent. I am an Optik customer with Telus and was reviewing my subscription when I realized that one of the 5 channels advertised on my subscription list under Prime Time was not available on my Guide and could not be viewed. When I inquired as to why it was there I was told it was not part of the subscription package. However, after checking my subscription it still shows. If it the channel is not part of the Theme Pack it should not be listed as one of the 5 channels. The channel I am referring to is Paramount. When I called I was told I could add it at an additional cost, even though it is part of the package. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was put on permanent hold. Waiting for a resolution! If one comes I will post an update.

Paramount Canada was shut down by the broadcaster December 31, 2023. They pivoted over to using their Paramount+ streaming service instead. That is likely what the sales person was offering to you to add.
Edit: The Prime Time channel pack on Telus's website also does not include Paramount. You may be on an old plan.

Interestingly Telus still advertises it as available in a number of the Theme packages. Why?

Are you looking at an older PDF listing of channel packs? The currently offered channel packs listed on Telus.com don't have Paramount listed. Telus has a bad habit of not removing old content and PDFs from their website and Google has indexed most of them so they pop up in search results pretty often. Either way, the Paramount channel no longer exists.

As stated, Paramount Canada was indeed shuttered and our theme pack updated. Do you have a link or location where you're seeing the older version?

Where are you accessing that from?

@TELUS_Support - Google still has the documents linked directly in search results since they started showing results from within PDFs and not just webpages. Since Telus never deletes the old documents when newer ones are created, Google never updates their search results. Telus still even has the channel guide from 2016 posted, and another from 2015.

Ahh gotcha, of course. @Disgruntled52 as with anything else, your best bet would be to visit telus.com for the most current lineup.

@TELUS_Support Also suggest they update https://www.telus.com/en/tv/what-to-watch . That page still has outdated channel packs listed. Paramount is listed there on the Prime Time pack. The links do eventually point to the current correct channel listing and packs.
