Long story short: Telus representative called me to offer me a better plan at a lower cost than I was previously on. I accepted the plan. The cost of the first bill is quadruple what it should be. They lied and I'm annoyed so I'm cancelling tomorrow.
Under the agreement, I'm allowed to cancel without repercussions within 15 days so long as certain conditions are met. I'm not on a contract. Do I still have to pay that first bill?

With the 15 day trial you will not be charged unless you have exceeded 30 minutes of calling, 50 messages or 50MB of data. If you have gone beyond that usage then you will receive a bill prorated for the days that you had access to the service and if there were any pay per use charges.
