Is there a way to upgrade my phone without changing my plan?

So I was wondering if I could get the Samsung Galaxy s8+ without upgrading my plan but willing to pay 300 to 400 up front on a 30$ plan. Would that work?

To get that level of subsidy would require a minimum plan of $80 per month. You could purchase it outright, though!
