Hey everyone! Hope you're doing well, and enjoying the end of summer! September is right around the corner and Netflix is bringing another great month of highly anticipated content to check out. Remember, it's never been easier to add Netflix to your Optik TV package, and you can see how to do that at our website!

You can also subscribe to Netflix as part of our awesome Stream+ package to get Netflix Premium, Apple TV+ and discovery+ all at a discounted rate!

Let's take a look at some of the highly anticipated titles streaming in September as well as what I'm hooked on now!

Coming To Netflix in September

  • September 7 - Virgin River (Season 5 - Part 1)
    • The return of the feel-good drama series set in the titular northern California town.
  • September 22 - Love is Blind (Season 5)
    • The smash hit reality series returns with a fifth season.
  • September 22 - Spy Kids: Armageddon
    • Robert Rodriguez returns to direct a new installment of the classic kid's action franchise.

Most Anticipated

Virgin River (Season 5 - Part 1)

First debuting quietly back in 2019, Virgin River has quickly become one of the biggest hits on Netflix. The romantic comedy in a small northern California town stars Alexandra Breckenridge (This Is Us) and Martin Henderson (Grey's Anatomy) and has been a smash hit for fans of romantic dramas. Virgin River follows Breckenridge as Melinda Monroe, recently relocated to the titular town from the much larger (and busier) Los Angeles. She thinks it'll be the best place to start fresh and leave her painful past behind, but soon discovers that small-town living isn't quite as simple as she'd hoped it'd be.

Admittedly, I'm not a massive fan of the genre, while my wife can't get enough. There are a few of these series however that catch my eye and after giving them a chance, they get their hooks in. One such recent series was the incredibly well-written A Million Little Things and this show is another. No big action sequences, no thrilling jump scares...Virgin River excels at what it does: comfort viewing with fantastic acting and enough plot twists and turns to keep you wondering what'll happen next. Be sure to check out the latest episodes when they hit Netflix on September 7. And fear not...the second half of the fifth season is coming in November! Check it out!

What I'm Watching Now

The Big Nailed It Baking Challenge

The perfect summer show to unwind, The Big Nailed It Baking Challenge is here with 10 episodes to make you laugh. The latest season in the comedic baking competition brings back hosts Nicole Byers and chocolatier Jacques Torres to preside over contestants given the task of creating magnificent works of culinary art. The only catch being that these are regular people with little to no skills in the kitchen!

I've been a big Nailed It! fan since the first season and it's awesome to see the show expand to 10 contestants in an elimination style season. The same successful formula continues with the group given the task of creating an incredibly complex cake, with a very short amount of time to actually do it. And I thought my baking skills were awful... they are.

If you're looking for a great show to kick back after a long day, with some laughs to boot...you're in the right spot. Check out all 10 episodes of the latest season of Nailed It! streaming now on Netflix!
