"Your TELUS Home Service account has been modified" - but I did not initiate this!?!?

I have been with Telus for a long time. In the past, whenever Telus wishes to give viewers a temporary freebie, it shows up on channel 5. Never before have I had the 'freebies' incorporated into a unilaterally revised contract, such as for National Geographic and DTOUR this month. Since there are often new 'freebies' every month, that would mean creating a new revised contract each month (for each customer!!), which would be ridiculous.
Or is this just for me, and why do it this way? Can someone please explain? It is difficult enough getting through to Telus when needed; I do not want to go through this each month.
