Profile Settings Not Holding
Anyone having issues with profiles not holding when selected on TELUSTV-21T Android Optik TV+ I have a Main profile and one additional. When I turn off box or it goes to sleep and was last viewing on Main it defaults to the second profile when reactivated. It used to hold the last viewed profile. Now in order to get it to accept Main you have to select the other profile then go back to Home and toggle to Settings then reselect Main which is a pain.
Canadian film channel
We signed up for Optik TV last year. It's been a long time since we've had cable (nearly 20 years), and.. things have really changed. The single-show channels are really a trip. I don't know if everybody gets the same, but we have Three's Company, Walking Dead, Price is Right channels. It seems setting up a "channel" is easy now, because these things don't require broadcast channels, nor hosts, or most likely even any office space. Somebody programs these things from a desk and advertising it inserted from some package deal that Telus sells. If it's so easy to do this, why do we not have a Canadian film channel, playing new and old films 24/7? There is a lot of really great stuff out there, but it's hard to find. Some is available on Crave, some doesn't seem to be available on any channels or streaming at all. Where is Last Night? When can I see Blue Heron? Mile End Kicks? With the apparent ease of setting up channels, the lack of support for Cancon is mind boggling.
PVR Not recording CBS / Colbert and Global News
Our PVR has again stopped recording these scheduled series even though they are set up correctly. They are set up to record First run only and I have verified that even first run are not being recorded. Recently this happened and I deleted all scheduled recordings and then it started working again. Now, a couple of months later they have stopped recording again. I have re-booted / re-set many times. Unplug then wait for a long time and then plug back in. No change. Anyone have any ideas or knowledge of what might be going on?
Do Not upgrade Optik TV Digital Box until you have to.
I received an email saying that I qualified to update my Telus digital box. I thought oh great filled out the form and hit send me new boxes with the warning the old boxes will stop working two weeks from shipping date. They arrived quickly next day by Purolator. I hooked up one of the boxes and started browsing and quickly noticed changes that I am not fond of. No channel preview in the guide just a picture, so you can't see if you are switching in to a commercial Channel information in the guide used to show actors and year show/ movie was made/aired. Now it just shows a brief description. Search used to be able to search live TV and demand for easy series record. Now it just shows on demand. Record now only stores for 90 days. None of my recorded stuff switched over (which I did see that it said it might not but I figured I would cross my fingers and hold my breath) I also had Christmas movies saved for years for easy holiday watching. Overall I think the boxes are a huge downgrade and if your current box is working properly don't bother with the upgrade.TELUS TV+ App Video Quality Issues
I'm reporting a persistent video quality issue with the TELUS TV+ app (com.telus.stbtvclient version 1.26.4.200) on both my Fire TV device and TELUS TV-24S boxes. For the past month, live TV and recorded shows start with good video quality for about 3 seconds, then become heavily pixelated and stays that way. On April 15, 2026, we called TELUS customer support and completed all recommended troubleshooting steps, including: Video quality set to Automatic (also tried Performance mode) Adjusted resolution settings on both Fire TV and TELUS TV-24S boxes Connected boxes directly with Ethernet cable and verified connection Rebooted modem, Wi-Fi boxes, and all TV devices Cleared app data and cache Uninstalled and reinstalled the TELUS TV+ app Power cycled all devices and checked signal quality Customer service concluded this appeared to be an app issue on the box. Note that the TELUS TV+ app is the ONLY app experiencing pixelation. All other apps (including TSN streaming services) on the same devices play normally with perfect video quality. Could you please: Confirm if this is a known issue with version 1.26.4.200 Provide a fix, patch, or rollback option Escalate to the app/software development team Thank you for your assistance.
Has anyone got their fully bridged NAH working with legacy PVR/STB?
It's a shame that I can only bridge one port or the entire NAH. I've been advised that if the NAH is fully bridged then my legacy PVR/STB will no longer work. Has anyone managed to get the PVR/STB with a fully bridged NAH? If so, what are the details of your setup to get this working? I do have a Ubiquiti UCG-Fiber.Do you find your legacy PVR/STB to be snappy?
I remember back when I got my PVR/STB many years ago, everything felt snappy. Over time, things seem to slow down. There's lag here and there now with the UI. Anyone else here notice the same thing? I wonder if it's the background software updates over the years that just slow things down?
