Should the TELUS boosters connect to B20T or NAH
Hello:
I currently have TELUS Purefiber 250 subscription and our existing set up is a Wifi Hub B20T connected to a Network Access Hub which is then connected to a Nokia ONT where the fiber optic goes in.
I am getting a pair of TELUS WIFI boosters (white round disks with ethernet cord and power cords) to enhance the WIFI strength in the basement area of our townhouse.
Can you advice where should the first TELUS booster disk be connected to, the B20T, or the NAH? I hope to use our existing Wifi and its password without having to create a new set of WIFI and password. Watching the video, I am still unsure what is appropriate. I still do not have the boosters yet (will get them tomorrow)
Thank you.
Thank you for your advice; Nighthawk; I appreciate your advice. Indeed, I should have kept all discussion in one place and not create a separate one (which I tried to delete but could not).
I posted several messages on this forum and one of the earlier one I got the advice to get the booster and so I did but I now realized it is not going to work, at least not connect to my original booster 2. I am going to try setting up the two discs as separate SSID if I can figure that out.

Hello:
I logged into 192.168.1.254 and had a careful look and would like to update my current set up so you can advice if the set up is efficient and correct:
The Optic fibre goes into a Nokia ONT which then connected to the NAH (Technicolor NH20T), which is then connected to Boost 2 (Technicolor model: EWH1350TLU).
(1) Is this connection correct? Should the Optic Fibre go straight into NAH instead of the Nokia? Thank you.
(3) Given this set up, could you confirm that the v1 Telus boosters (two disks) are not compatible with my set up? Thank you.

(1) Depends on the speed of your service and which Nokia ONT is present. What is the connection speed you are on contract for?
(3) The original v1 Boost units can be used but they will not mesh with the newer Boost 2 unit. They will have separate wireless network SSIDs. Both the Boost 1 (one of the pair) and Boost 2 will have to be hardwired to the NAH by either ethernet or coax depending on how your installation was set up. How large of a space are you trying to cover with wifi? Are you experiencing any dead zones or areas with weak wifi signal in your residence?
Edit: I saw your original post. As this is related to the question you posed here, it would be advised to keep it all in one discussion. As such, for point (1) above, no, it won't matter which device the fibre is connected to as your internet connection speed is less than 1.5gbps. For point (2), you will have two separate networks if you use the old Boost 1 units with the Boost 2. Only way for one single cohesive wifi network using Telus hardware is to have two Boost 2s or the pair of the original Boosts.

I have tried to set up the two disk boosters by connecting one of them to our existing WIFI hub and although the disk light turns blue, I was not able to press next on my TELUS connect app to continue. Is there a way to set up the booster without using the app? I logged into the NAH admin on my computer and can see the booster is connected but do not know how to proceed from there without using the app, which is stuck at a green check light and does not allow me to press "Next" to continue my set up. Thank you for your help.

Hey Sedum2026 - Are these Boosters that you will have soon the first generation of Wi-Fi Boosts? I'll attach some pictures to clarify.
These are the v1 "Wi-Fi Boosts"
This is the next-generation that has the mesh capabilities:
It's curious that you have a NAH and the Nokia ONT as they do the same job but the NAH is a newer generation. Is it that maybe the Fibre ends at the NAH and the ONT is just sitting there idle, or is there a second Fibre connection?
If you are getting the disk-shaped Boosters, they are not compatible with creating a mesh network with the second generation Boosts (The B20T) so they will generate their own network with their own SSID and password.
The NAH acts as a ONT/Modem combination and the v2 Boosts are access points. The Wi-Fi Boosts v1 might not play nice with having all of this equipment.
You could remove the B20T and keep the two Wi-Fi Boosts - one where the B20T is, and a second in the basement if you'd like.
Ideally, I recommend going Fibre --> NAH --> B20T --> Second Booster
To answer your question, I would go NAH --> B20T
I
--> Wi-Fi Boost (Disks)
What we could do is engage with you privately and see about a second Booster so you don't have to go with the V1 Boosts and the second generation will create the mesh that you're looking for

Thank you for clarification. Indeed, I just got the V1 boosters (two disks) and our house set up is strange as this was the way it was set up when we moved in a few months ago and the TELUS tech who cam to set us internet for us spent less than 5 minutes, literally, to get the B20T going and then left (the previous owner left their B20T so the tech simply used it back in October 2025). Our current set up: the fibreoptic is indeed connected to Nokia, which then connect to NAH and a H20T is connected to NAH. Now that I just got my version 1 boosters, I will try to connect it and see how it goes. Thank you; I wish I had consulted with this community sooner before I purchased this V1 boosters.
