Telus its time to make EXCHANGE CODES portable.

Those intercoms / enterphones, unless they are older than dirt, can actually dial long distance numbers. The apartment or condo just doesn't want to spend the $0.07 it'll cost every time someone buzzes you. I know because the building I'm in, also in Edmonton, does allow long distance numbers for the enterphone and I've seen the monthly statement where we get charged the $0.07 per call because they're so short. For a large complex with over 100 units, it works out to add about $2 a month to the bill for my building.
