Dropped calls 5G Samsung phone
I have a Samsung S22 Ultra. Over the past week (Let's say June 1, 2026), my call drops on the 1st ring. If I reboot my phone and make the call then it goes through. Same issue over and over. When someone calls me it rings once and they end up in my voicemail. I called support and they did a network reset on their end and I did the same on the phones settings. I ended up visiting a phone store and they said the problem is with 5G and Samsung and Telus is aware. In the meantime I need to switch to LTE only. This seams to have fixed the dropped calls but I need to know when I can switch back to 5G. When will this be fixed?

My phone has 2 options under Network. 5G Preferred or LTE Preferred. So far no problems under LTE Preferred as the support people in the Telus store indicated. They also said they've gotten a lot of this same issue with other customers who have samsung on Telus on 5G. Since switching to LTE Preferred the calls do not drop (inbound or outbound). This is in the Mississauga area. It previously work fine. I came back from a 2 week visit to the US and no problems there. 1 week after returning this issue started.

It's pretty weird and so far I was not able to find a known issue related to 5G issues such as yours. Can you keep an eye on future updates and keep on LTE/4G for now ? It's not impossible that some updates may need to be done on the 5G network in your area so keep us posted if you notice a change.

Hello Dinesh, I own a S25 Plus and I don't have this issue anywhere in the area of Montreal. Are you aware if your device had a software issue in June ? Are you having this issue in many different locations ?
You can try these 2 things for now, prevent your phone from searching for 5G signals, which stabilizes your voice connectivity -Android (Samsung/Google Pixel): Go to Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Network Mode and select LTE/3G/2G (auto connect)
Since 5G cannot carry voice, you must ensure VoLTE is turned on so your calls are routed properly through the LTE network - Android: Go to Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks and toggle VoLTE calls to ON.
