I have multiple times opened settings, turned on closed captions, opened display settings and set caption preferences the way I would like: small font, 25% opacity on background. The example shown in settings would be perfect, IF the settings were applied when returning to live TV. Default of large font, white font on opaque black background interferes with decent program viewing. How to get the captions settings as set to apply to live TV? Is this a feature still under development? If so when will this be rolled out? I consider this a high priority for my TV viewing.23Views0likes3CommentsUpgraded to Optik TV Android Box - Profiles
We have multiple Telus Optik TV Android boxes (TelusTV-24S). We upgraded from the old Optik boxes. They all powered up and work just fine except we never get a "Who is watching?" screen where I can choose between the profiles. When it was first set up on the home page it shows a spot down the page to create them which we did but after selecting one, it goes back to the Home Screen. Each profile has a different profile pic. We cannot find any profiles. On the "Home" screen, I have a "Settings" tab, which has a "Gear" icon, but when clicked, this doesn't allow me to do anything with profiles. Under settings- device settings- accounts and profiles - has no accounts listed(we can only sign in to google there). The profile selection screen at telustvplus.com doesn’t show up either. We updated the software and did a couple of factory restarts to no avail. We have called telus customer support a couple of times with no help. The first time after getting the boxes a week ago and was told to wait a week and call back if it wasn’t fix as the boxes all weren’t on the account yet. The second time (yesterday) was told we have to have a google account signed in for profiles to work. (I told them I don’t want that because that’s not what I was talking about but have since tried signing in with a google account and that didn’t do anything). It seems to me the people I’ve talk to don’t understand what we mean even when both times have been with them on video while trying to explain. I’ve mentioned the telus webpage about the profiles (user-profiles-optik-tv) and was told it’s wrong and that can’t be done. In looking on this site, it seems the solution may be an account setup issue not a hardware issue but nobody with customer support seems to understand. Maybe someone here can help. This past summer we had a number of movies be purchased on our demand and TV shows that neither my partner and I were watching show up on our watch history. We contacted Telus they removed all of the charges and we added a purchase pin to our account and parental control as well. We changed the account password too. This past week we’ve noticed that there are TV shows that neither of us have watched up here again on our account and this week they decided to rent Lilo and stitch which appeared on our bill this month. I have tried to contact Telus all evening and have been on hold for well over an hour. Does anyone have any advice? I have a couple of Telus TV Android boxes. One of them stopped working, just won't turn on. After googling I found the issue was likely the power cable. I tested it by swapping it for the power adapter on our other box and it works. Saw a reddit post that said you can arrange to have a new power adapter mailed out. New Telus internet & TV customer here in Ontario. I just got Telus TV added to my internet today. I have no receiver, I'm just using the TELUS TV+ app on my Apple TVs and iPhone. However, some channels are unavailable (crossed out house logo in EPG) and "In Home Status" in the settings on my Apple TVs show as 'Not connected at home'. Yet, these same channels all work fine in a web browser on my computer (telustvplus.com) which shows in the settings as 'Connected at home'. New Telus customer here with Telus internet over Bell-owned fibre in Toronto. I just called and added 'Optik TV Core' to my plan so that I can stream live TV through the Telus TV+ app on my Apple TV. I also purchased the 'Sportsnet & Beyond' theme pack. However...noticably absent is TSN. Despite it being mentioned in the channel guide, on numerous Google searches...there seems to be NO way to add the TSN channels anywhere. Is TSN simply unavailable on Optik TV in Eastern Canada? I received an email saying that I qualified to update my Telus digital box. I thought oh great filled out the form and hit send me new boxes with the warning the old boxes will stop working two weeks from shipping date. They arrived quickly next day by Purolator. I hooked up one of the boxes and started browsing and quickly noticed changes that I am not fond of. No channel preview in the guide just a picture, so you can't see if you are switching in to a commercial Channel information in the guide used to show actors and year show/ movie was made/aired. Now it just shows a brief description. Search used to be able to search live TV and demand for easy series record. Now it just shows on demand. Record now only stores for 90 days. None of my recorded stuff switched over (which I did see that it said it might not but I figured I would cross my fingers and hold my breath) I also had Christmas movies saved for years for easy holiday watching. Overall I think the boxes are a huge downgrade and if your current box is working properly don't bother with the upgrade.136Views2likes1CommentTelus delay of starting my service contract took maybe on the 30 day cancellation period.
Oh gosh, where do I even start on Telus issues. For now let’s talk about how the delays that Telus caused said I got my account and contract took me on their cancellation period they’re saying. How can I get a reasonable person on the phone to talk to - someone sides people giving robotic answers that the management behind them tell them to say. Just getting very rigid answers by the book that ignores the details I give them of what their billing mistake is. . . it doesn’t help. up to almost 6 hours on the phone with customer service AND Loyalty/Customer retention. Hello, All my favourite channels still have hearts on the "Edit favourites" screen, and all my subscribed channels are there, but on the Telus TV 21T box, as well as in the Firestick app, the guide only shows 7 channels (149,351..) when filtering for "My favourite channels", none of which have hearts. The favourite channels are properly filtered on the website telustvplus. This happens for multiple "who's watching" sign-ins and the same 7 channels are the only ones listed in the guide. Has this happened to anyone else? What can I do to get it to work again -- it had been working for the past year without problem?
