Re: Google account
TELUS email powered by Google is not a normal Personal Google Account and does not include all the standard "free" G-Suite services (Google Maps, Docs, etc) that come with a Personal Google Account. Instead, TELUS email powered by Google is a TELUS Managed Google Account and includes a limited number of G-Suite services (Email, Calendar). Unlike "free" personal Gmail accounts which are supported by advertisements, TELUS email powered by Google does not display Google ads on the side bar or within the email inbox. In addition, TELUS Managed Google Accounts are governed by the TELUS privacy policy, which prevents Google from scanning all your emails, calendar, contacts, etc to deliver more targeted ads (as is done with "free" Personal Google Accounts). Because of this, if customers want to use non-supported G-Suite services they will either need to log out of their TELUS email powered by Google, use a separate Internet browser, or open an Incognito browser window. Customers just need to access these G-Suite services from a different session that is not logged into TELUS email powered by Google. There are no plans to expand TELUS email powered by Google to the full range of G-Suite services. Customers wanting to use those G-Suite services can simply open a free Gmail account.2.9KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Copper to fiber rotary phone issue
MvM , Rotary phones use Pulse Dialing and the technician should've advised you that you would need a new phone set as pulse is not supported on Fibre and Copper is being discontinued. Pulse is an antiquated technology much like party lines and is being phased out. I am not sure if TELUS technician carries any of those converter and calling support to have one is no guarantee as well. It would've been easier if you have the technician's business card to ask the installer directly.11KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Law Firm claiming TELUS as a client
TELUS refers an account to a collection agency for payment collections. This could be a fraud or scam but it is best to call TELUS Payment Services to verify the status of your account. Just dial 310-2500 or 1-888-811-2500, Weekdays (8AM - 7PM PST)/Weekends (8AM-5PM PST). If no matching information, whomever you'll speak to will submit a fraud investigation form, they may ask for the fraudulent calling number, the name of the caller, and the time and date of the call (if you have these details).26KViews0likes0CommentsRe: How to connect wireless 4k box to wifi booster?
mopudding TELUS has two types of Wi-Fi Booster, the regular Wi-Fi Boost & the Boost Wi-Fi 6 (for PureFibre). If what you have is the is the one below and if it's already hardwired to the ethernet jack in your office room, this booster does not support Optik TV wireless pairing. This unit is not designed to support that functionality. It may be logically possible to hardwire your VIP5602 to the boost unit but it is an unsupported setup. The unit only has 1 ethernet at the back, that is so it can be wired in if it's not within the range of Main Unit for wireless communication10KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Wanting to keep Telus email address after canceling Telus service
Nighthawk it is still being offered. There's a charge so TELUS can pay Google to run the email through Google. Also, unlike "free" personal Gmail accounts which are supported by advertisements, TELUS email powered by Google does not display Google ads on the side bar or within the email inbox. In addition, TELUS Managed Google Accounts are governed by the TELUS privacy policy, which prevents Google from scanning all your emails, calendar, contacts, etc to deliver more targeted ads (as is done with "free" Personal Google Accounts).15KViews3likes0CommentsRe: Wanting to keep Telus email address after canceling Telus service
DigDug Yes you can keep your telus.net email as stand alone service for $7/month. If your service is copper don't forget to inform the agent that you are keeping your email so they can cease and recover your email the same day before cancelling your High Speed. If you are a PureFibre customer you just need to advised the agent to keep your email since it's already provided as a stand alone service and you will automatically be billed $7 the billing cycle.14KViews0likes5Comments
