DC cable extension for outdoor camera.
So I've just signed up for security and got an outdoor DIY install camera my as I've already got a Google nest doorbell camera I wanted to get an additional outdoor one to cover the drive area and as per the instructions I purchased a DC cable extension. There were no options locally to get one on white so I was surprised when it arrived that it didn't work. Upon closer inspection, and after some googling I realize the standard DC cable size for 5.5mm connectors is 2.5 but this one appears smaller. Before I go am order a 5.5x 2.1 cable in white can anyone confirm this? I called technical support and the guy had no idea. You'd think the Telus generated instructions would include this nuance vs saying just buy an extension cable. Thanks.Solved3.7KViews0likes1CommentRe: Showing signal but cannot make or receive calls.
Yes, i tried to give an update Sunday but i guess the post didn't take. When calling Virgin to unlock our old phones the representative confirmed the issue. I happened to stumble upon a reddit article yesterday when googling what phones I could upgrade to and tried disabling the Google app which worked. The update arrived soon after. Thank you for your help.6.6KViews3likes0CommentsShowing signal but cannot make or receive calls.
So we switched over from Virgin to Telus a few weeks ago and everything seemed fine. We brought over our LG G7 Thin Q's with us. Yesterday while walking the dogs i was separated from the wife (we have an aging dog who won't walk as far) and when we meet up the wife mentored she was unable to call me even though she was showing full signal. I could call her but it went straight to voicemail. I've tried all the options on the net. (Soft reset, airline mode, sim re and re, network reset and calling via safe mode with no result. Called the Telus tech line from my phone and they said it was an issue with LG and they put in a ticket. Meanwhile I've tried swapping the Sims between phones and the problem followed. But the end of the day and after making a call to my voice mail to set up i find mine is now the same. Is it right that this is a problem with LG? Normally we've gotten new phones with the plan so not sure if it's linked. Could the SIM be corrupted and transferred the issue to mine even though I've put mine back? Can't try our old phones because they are still locked.6.8KViews0likes4CommentsTelus mail switchover
Ok so I did everything i was asked to switch over to the gmail powered version at the end of July, choosing a 6th Aug date. So last week I get the same request to switch over which i ignored. I've just gotten a reminder so i decided to check out out. I'm still not switched over and apparently i have to make all the decisions and switch over again, now in 9 days time. Anyone else getting this?1.6KViews0likes0CommentsIntermittent drop out during the day since the lockdown.
Hi, I'm on fibre internet 150 which we've had since they laid it in my street about 4 years ago. As the installer decided to mount the router in a cupboard in the basement we've been restricted to using everything on the wi fi connection although he did wire up my outgoing wireless router to give added coverage. Since we were put on lockdown on March 16th I've been working from home on a laptop, connected to the company server via a VPN. Anyway we've had the odd VPN disconnection which could probably be traced to works end which, although frustrating is about what we're all getting in the network. The last week or so I've been getting connection glitches on my private time. I play WOT Blitz on my phone and have had both high and low ping but high packet loss at these rimes, rendering the game unplayable. Yesterday while on a Skype call we lost all internet for about 20 seconds. It Was definitely my provider as my wife, who was browsing on her phone lost connection at the same time. My co worker whom i was talking called back has also experienced similar but not as Extreme issues on Telus. Is this as a result of the increased load on the system as a whole, or am i starting to get a different problem?1.6KViews1like0Comments
