So, I am literally day 1 with Telus tv. I switched from old school 1080p60 Shaw boxs. It is insane how poor the bitrate is with Telus tv plus. I have 5 gig fiber with telus (and love it). I have their android boxes hard lined too. Yes, I have the right res set on each box with the best possible quality set. The poor quality is 100% due to telus brutal bitrate feed. I should have done some more research on this, there are a pile of posts on this same subject.
I just assumed with such good internet the bitrate would be good too. I flipped back to one of my shaw boxs, since my service was not cut off yet, and its crazy to see the difference in quality, especially in sports.
Thankfully I am within the 30 days and will be returning everything and calling shaw asking to put a hold on that cancellation.
If you care about quality, hold off getting telus tv till they bump their bitrate.

We understand how important picture quality is, particularly for sports and other high-motion content. Telus TV+ uses adaptive streaming technology to deliver content, and while this is optimized for most customers, we recognize that some users may notice differences when transitioning from traditional cable services with higher bitrates.
Your feedback is invaluable and has been shared with our product teams as we continuously work to improve our services. Enhancing video quality is a priority, and updates to improve the streaming experience are actively being evaluated. Hey man,
I’ve been very vocal on this forum about picture quality, unfortunately a year into my contract the non sports channels look great and even the 4K sports channels because they have a higher resolution window. The sports channels (ex. TSN1, SNW, SN360) run at 720p60 which is brutal it is quite literally worse than the Sportsnet app and TSN app on my 4K OLED. The non sports channels now run 1080p and even those are decent. I pay over 40$ a month in sports theme packs and to have this quality has been the most frustrating thing I’ve ever experienced.
The kicker for me is that the Telus internet is top tier I have 1.5Gbps and it’s awesome.
I really hope they wake up and even if the channels are broadcasting at 720p60 they need to increase the resolution to 1080p60 it will allow for less pixelation.
