Series recordings


So I just switched from Eastlink to Telus and am dealing with the new Cloud PVR. 


1. Cannot tell on the guide whether a show is new or a rerun, why is that?

2. Cannot set a series to record when I select first run only, as I get the message there are no first runs currently scheduled. Why would that matter, I should be able to set a series recording for first run only shows even if no first run shows are scheduled in the next 2 weeks.
