ECB6200 Necessary?

Hey guys,
Is it necessary for me to utilize the ecb6200 adapter or can I simply connect the telus 4k box directly via ethernet?

Normally the MoCA adapters are installed if ethernet is not available to the set top box location and the coax line is used instead. If you have an ethernet connection from where the set top box is, and it is connected directly to the Telus router, yes, you can use that.

Odd as to why the technician would bother with the adapter as there's an ethernet wall plate next to the coax connection. 1ft ethernet cable from the router to the ethernet panel and another from the ethernet wall plate to the telus box.
