I’m feeling frustrated and could use some advice. I recently moved into a new place and agreed to take over my landlord’s Telus Home Security contract, thinking I’d only have to cover the remaining 16 months.
However, I just found out that I’m now locked into a new 3-year contract! I feel like I was misled or something wasn’t properly explained. I was under the impression I’d be continuing the existing contract terms, not starting fresh.
Has anyone else been in a similar situation with Telus or any other home security providers? Is there any way to negotiate out of or shorten the contract, especially since I didn’t intend to commit to 3 years?

I am at the point where I will never accept an offer from Telus as nearly every time I do I get locked into 2 year contracts despite mentioning I will only accept offers that do not require contracts.

When did it became a pain to address issues with Telus? What happened them? Still couldn't resolve my issue after so many calls. such a shame!
