Unlocking iPhone

Hello, I am traveling overseas soon and have an old iPhone 6 that was purchased a couple years back. I've submitted my IMEI number through mytelusmobility to get my phone unlocked and now I need to insert a SIM card from a different carrier to complete the process. My question is once I insert the SIM card, do I need a code or anything of that sort, or does it complete automatically? I've received an email that my request to unlock my device was complete, but there was no unlock code provided.

Unlock codes are not sent for iPhones, it is managed by a database at Apple. Once you insert another SIM, the process is very straightforward, though I suggest you complete the unlocking before you travel. If you don't have access to another SIM,follow these instructions to complete it through iTunes.

Thank you very much! My sister has a SIM card from a different carrier so I'll just borrow her's to complete the unlocking process on my phone. Appreciate the help.
