Confirm Telus LTE bands in Toronto

Looking for a new phone but Telus’s current lineup doesn’t really fit my needs. So started looking at unlocked models from various different sources. One model in particular that am interested in the new LG V10. However I have discovered that it does not support LTE Band 4 (1700 MHz). Am I correct that LTE Band 4 is the only frequency that Telus offers?

Choosing the V10 is not set in stone – it is just an example of a phone that may not be supported on Telus’s network.

Thx!

The VS990 & H900 version of the V10 appear to support LTE Band 4. It just depends which version you can get your hands on. LG does not post full specs for other versions of the V10. They have also not released any plans to bring that device to Canada so if you buy it, it'll likely be without warranty.

My question was not about the V10 per say – as stated that was just an example of a phone that may not be supported on Telus’s network. My question was to confirm if Telus broadcasts anything other LTE Band 4. This would be practical information for anyone shopping for an unlocked phone for it could potentially offer more choices.

Fully understand the risks that come with using a device that is not officially supported by the carrier, i.e. an unlocked phone not purchased through the carrier. But knowing the tools you have to work with will mitigate that risk.

Yes, Telus currently only supports LTE Band 4. That is the main band supported by the big 3 in Canada. Wikipedia also has a list of LTE bands in use by country.

That is not true, 1700 is not the only LTE frequency Telus support, at least not locally. My phone only support 1800/2600 and I'm able to pick up the 2600 LTE  signal in Toronto.
