Since Aug 14, 2019 any new emails have not been loading to my Telus account set up on my ipad. All the emails are there when logging into webmail.
I have tried deleting the account and setting it up new, but still only emails up to Aug 14, 2019 are loaded. The account on the iPad is set up as an SMTP account. How can I get the newer emails to load and synchronize again?

SMTP is for outgoing mail. Incoming is either POP, or IMAP (recommended). Review your settings against those linked by @WestCoasterBC to set things up. Recent emails arrive to my iPad using the built-in mail application.
