You will need to call Telus to inquire directly at 1-888-811-2323.

5 lines in a single house is very unusual and very rare. Existing homes aren't wired internally for that and no regular single home has enough copper pairs running to the house to handle that many lines. Older areas or areas with old lines may only have enough for two lines max, and that's assuming both pairs are viable. Older homes may also only have to pair lines inside the house. Some newer areas may be able to handle a couple more but there's no guarantee. Regular fibre would not handle that many lines either as the gateways just have one or two line RJ11 jacks on them. Some areas may have capacity to add more wire pairs, some may not and the only way they may be able to find out is to have a tech come out.

For any internal wiring work done inside the house, Telus may charge for it as those lines are owned by the homeowner. Depending on how the existing phone jacks are wired, some homes may require a fair bit of work to separate them. Some houses use one long run where all jacks are daisy chained together. That is the worst case. If the home was wired where all the jacks terminate at one point where the line enters the house and they can be separated easier, that would greatly simplify things for the install and may potentially reduce any costs.

The business side of Telus does have VoIP options that would allow additional lines over ethernet or in some cases wifi but that may need additional hardware and VoIP phones.

So what you’re saying it all depends on how many pairs of lines are coming into the house determines how many lines one can have. Now is it possible to do upgrades on the junction box coming into the house so it can support more (I checked mine I only have two pairs) I would understand I would probably need a Telus tech to come out. I just want to have an idea if it’s possible

Hi @zacrjp - to top up what Nighthawk mentioned - You might benefit from speaking with the business team as most of our residential connections include one to two lines
