During the mail strike, contract ran out, charged 160 for a 75 plan

I am currently looking for a new provider after being years with Telus for my internet. In sept I paid for Octobers bill and paid it in full. Being as there is a mail strike ( just ended) I forgot about my telus bill and went in end of November to pay up what I assumed would be 65 a month x2 2 months Nov, Dec. 2024. I was not so pleasantly surprised to find that my bill was not for 130 dollars as I expected but when it ran out they changed the amount to 160 a month for the same 75 plan I was on. The bill was 291 dollars. The closest plan to what I was on is now the 250 plan and the cost of that plan is currently 60 a month. My plan when I got on it ( 75gbs plan) was advertised as 79 dollars and I got it for the discounted price of 60 a month but later they added 5 dollars a month for a modem that was included in the contract when I started. I paid an extra 5 a month for at least a year. **** I was really upset as I am on permanent disability and cannot afford bill changes with my budget. I explained this to the retention team and the person I got on the line ( gene male name) (prob not even on the loyalty team) kept repeating back what I said above and already told him at the beginning of the call. Everytime I asked him to stop so we could discuss the amount i was charged and try to bring it down to a normal amount he inturrupted and told me I had to listen to him and continued to spu off the same information I already knew and had told him above. I told him I thought it was very unfair to be charged 160 a month at the end of contract without a call to remind me it ended and hoped I could get a discount and he finally tells me he is not going to give me a discount. Also, When I paid up my October bill the charge was based on my rate and I payed the entire bill but when I went deeper into the new bill it not only had added 108 dollars to my bill but also said I missed that payment and was charged a late fee. A late fee on a bill that wasnt there until I payed the total asked for on my screen. I told him I was going to go look eslewhere and would just pay my bill. Again he started to lecture me and try to convince me the fees were normal and good and talked over me when I tried to reply so I finally hung up on him. I recieved two calls back from this individual to my personal phone after I already went and payed my bill and he said he was available to help me close my account when I had not told him to close my account. I told him I was going to look for a better deal elsewhere and would figure it out on my own. This was after the final straw on my end of the conversation where I had asked about the 60 a month 250 plan that I had bookmarked and screenshot and was told that the best he could do is give me that plan for 65 amonth instead of the advertised 60 a month. I can't believe the loyalty team cannot even give you the advertised price online on their site and would have the gull to offer a plan the exact same but an extra 5 a month and btw it was written up as it was again like 140 a month and I was getting this special deal so when it ends they can take 5 months internet out in two months or payments. No thanks telus. You may have got my 291 dollars for a service worth 130 max but I will not sign up to pay you 65 intstead of the advertised cost of 60 and I definetely will not agree to you pretending this advertised price is discounted from 140 or 160 bucks to when it cancels right at christmas time you can take my last few dollars I needed for presents as a person on permenant disability. Very upsetting!
