Optik TV - Green Screen Saver

optik-green-screen.png

Why does my box enter "green screen mode"?

Customers will see a green screen saver when their Optik set top box (STB) has been on standby from 4 hours of continuous play with no remote interaction, and when they power down their PVR/STB. This screen is in place to show that the box is in standby mode. Digital boxes must remain in standby mode to ensure you can record programs while you're away from your TV, and so you can play live TV programming instantly.

How do I exit the green screen?

The green screen will help you easily identify when the box is in standby mode. Simply turn off your TV monitor and the screen will no longer be visible on your TV. To continue watching, simply press the power button or OK button on your Optik TV remote and the digital box will come out of standby.

How do I increase the standby mode?

If you would like to increase the standby mode from 4 hours to 24 hours, please give TELUS a call at 1-888-811-2323 and a team member will assist you with updating your preferences.
