Telus 21T - setting default volume higher?
I have a Telus 21T box. It recently did some firmware update after failing a few times, and is at app version 1.25.10.300 and MW 4.5.1-250811. Since then, the volume of the TV is very low. When I switch to the FireTV HDMI input of my TV the volume is normal and therefore much louder (and therefore very jarring when switching inputs back and forth). I have an AV receiver set up to control the volume, and have unpaired the AV receiver from the Telus Remote, set the Telus 21T's volume up to its max which is 15 according to the on screen display, and re-paired my AV receiver, but the volume is still much lower than the FireTV's default volume. What else can I do to increase the 21T's default volume output?

Hi all,
Quick tip to set the TELUS TV digital box volume setting to max. From the TELUS remote, hit the microphone key to launchg the voice control feature and say "set volume to max". This will set the box volume setting to max while keeping your remote configuration as is and let you use your TV or audio system volume to control the output volume.

I think this only works if you have set up a Google account, and not everyone wants to do that.
It would be nice if Telus could just add the device volume setting to the "display and audio" settings of device settings in the TelusTV app, so you don't have to un-pair & re-pair the remote to adjust the device's volume. It should be made easy and intuitive to adjust the device volume when it is reset after a firmware update, especially for people when they get older or have accessibility issues...

Hi lmn19 - I checked with the team and they provided the following guide.
To change the remote control settings to adjust the volume of the TV Digital Box:
1. Press and hold 'Input' and 'Left' on the remote control for 3 seconds.
Green LED on the remote control should be ON
2. Press 'OK' on the remote control
White and green LED on the remote control should alternate twice.
3. Use the volume on the remote control to increase the volume.
To change the remote control back to adjusting the volume of the TV.
4. Press and hold the 'Input' and 'Right' on the remote control for 3 second
Green LED on the remote control should be ON
5. Press 'OK' on the remote control
White and green LED on the remote control should alternate twice.
Alternatively:
Press the Google Assistant button on the remote control.

I believe that is for older Optik TV equipment. I have this remote and the volume only goes to 15 not 25.

I also don't see any place in the app "Device settings" to control device volume. You have to unpair the remote from AV receiver, set device volume to maximum, and re-pair remote to AV receiver, which seems very poorly designed. A simple device volume control in device settings would make more sense and be easier for everyone.
But even at volume 15 the sound output is lower than the firestick volume. I was hoping they could be the same.
