setting tp-deco X50 Pro
Good day,
I have technicolor NH20T as my fibre modem in my basement running and got Deco X50 Pro mesh network setup in router mode. I am trying to make port forwarding work to make my homelab work. What I have done so far:
1. Accessed the NH20T and put it in 10G port bridge mode.
2. Connect my mesh net (X50 Pro) to the 10G port, working as a router mode.
3. Port Forwarding on X50 Pro (no luck)
4. Tried to port forward on NH20T after accessing through Port 1, but the IP Address won't show up for X50 Pro. I am assuming because of the Bridge Mode connection.
5. Reset and Restart both of the units.
Any leads and ideas a much appreciated.
Hi there, thanks for reaching out! It sounds like you've done a lot of the right steps already. When using the Technicolor NH20T in bridge mode, it will hand off the WAN IP directly to your Deco X50 Pro, meaning:
- Port forwarding must be done solely on your Deco X50 Pro, not on the NH20T.
- Since the NH20T is in bridge mode, it no longer manages LAN devices or routing functions, which is why you don't see the Deco listed when connecting via Port 1.
A couple of things to check:
- Confirm your Deco has the public IP — in the Deco app, check under Internet > IP address. It should show a public IP (not 192.x.x.x or 10.x.x.x).
- Double-check your port forwarding rules — ensure they match the internal static IP of the homelab device and the correct ports/protocols are listed.
- Ensure firewall settings on the Deco are not blocking incoming connections.

good day, thats what i was thinking but it seems to be a Deco X50 Pro issue since it also shows a public IP rather than a private one.
