Aging PVR recording at 6pm freezes, repeats or says recording not available every night.
Telus has now installed the new Boost 7 routers and they don’t work well with the old UIW8001 Telus boxes. I have done all troubleshooting according to instructions including powering down all modems and pvrs…then sequentially restarting first the main modem until the green light comes on, then the main pvr until live tv is back etc etc. The 6pm show then records as per usual and there are no problems for about 4 days and then that same 6pm show won’t play, freezes, says not available again and so on until I reboot everything yet again in the correct order. I have tried to do a deep recovery mode (unplug and plug back in 4 times etc) and it didn’t help. Last effort tonight…I completely deleted the whole series recordings and deleted the future series from recording. Then I found the show from the guide for tomorrow at 6pm and set up a brand new series recording schedule. Now I wait for tomorrow at 6pm (Thur July 9) to see if the recording freezes or won’t play. If it’s fine from now on then I’ve fixed the problem. If it’s not resolved, I need to move from Legacy into Cloud PVR which I think I have to pay more for! >:-(

Thank you. The living room TV now shows recordings and works. However, I don’t think it will last. Thanks. I’ll wait for your private message.

The 6pm recording was smooth and I’m able to pause, forward and rewind. This is all taking place on the main pvr in the bedroom attached to the TV in there. All previous recordings are visible too. But now there’s another problem. The TV in the living room also has a Telus box and a second Boost 7 modem. The TV now displays a message “The recordings list is unavailable. Make sure your digital box and the PVR are connected to the network.” I’m watching live TV, I can pause live TV, forward and rewind but the ling room TV is not able to display any recordings. So the TV in the bedroom is the only TV I can watch my shows.

Just checking in again, did you try rebooting your network and tv? does that message still display?

I unplugged the Boost 7 in the living room and the telus box (just the living room ones). Then plugged in the boost 7 and waited until it became green. Then plugged in the Telus box. It initialized and recordings did not display. So today I will start from the beginning and unplug ALL modems…and then sequentially plug in the modems until they turn green and boxes and wait for them all to initialize. It’s now Friday July 10.

Hey Apple4u! That sounds incredibly frustrating, especially since you've already gone through a deep recovery. The UIW8001 boxes can sometimes struggle with network handshakes on the new Boost Wi-Fi 7 hardware, which is likely what's causing that loop. Wiping and restarting the series schedule is a great call to rule out a corrupted file. If tomorrow's recording still acts up, let us know and we'll help sort this out.
