I power cycled my router and now there is no signal

Hi there. I have a fibre connection with a modem/router style box that has numerous ports on it.

long story short but I was trying to connect a NAS and they suggested I power cycle the router. I did so, and now I have no internet signal whatsoever.

I was on hold with support for 40 minutes and then they disconnected as it was past their working hours

any tips? Thanks 🙏

Hi Natewr - do you have the white square fibre box? Does it have a green light or a red light?

Power cycling does not cause a loss of data so just make sure all the cables are snuggly inserted into the appropriate ports.

  • I have a modem, router, WIFI, Optik

If you also have more than one beside router, turn them all off and then about a minute apart and in this order plug in modem, router, WIFI, OptikTV.

  • I should specify-

the light on it is green and the ports are all flickering as usual. I can see the wifi connections listed, they just don’t have any internet connection.
