Hi, I'm trying to troubleshoot an issue where a residential family member using Telus Internet can't seem to send smtp emails through Thunderbird on a Windows PC. The user has a Shaw.ca address and can receive emails, but recently started getting the following error when sending mail: I checked the IP address and it shows on Spamhaus's PBL. The SMTP mail settings show he's using STARTLS auth with a username/password and I don't see any compromise of the PC. I suspect there's an IP in that range that was actually compromised as shows on SpamHaus: "66.222.208.0/20 is listed on the Policy Block List (PBL)" Is there a way to get Telus to get this Ip off the list, or is there a way to get a new IP address? The DHCP release on the router and shutting off for 10+ hours didn't work. Thanks.117Views0likes8CommentsCGNAT Removal and Public IP Address Assignment, Is This Still Possible?
Hello and Happy New Year. I recently moved and am now managing my own TELUS Fibre connection directly. I am trying to resume hosting small game servers and other self-hosted services that require inbound IPv4 access. I have the Technicolor NH20T Network Hub installed and have configured IPv4 port forwarding and firewall rules correctly. However my WAN IPv4 address is 100.84.x.x which appears to indicate CGNAT. As expected inbound IPv4 connections cannot reach my network. I have contacted TELUS multiple times. One representative confirmed this would require backend provisioning changes and issued a reference number. I later received automated issue resolved messages but no change was applied. A follow-up representative suggested upgrading to a business plan. I clarified that I do not need a static IP or special IPv6 features only a public non-CGNAT IPv4 address. That ticket has now been escalated again to backend provisioning. My questions are as follows. In 2026 can residential TELUS Fibre customers still be assigned a public IPv4 address to allow inbound IPv4 services and port forwarding, or is a business plan now required? If CGNAT removal is not available on residential accounts is there any supported residential option remaining? I understand that bridge mode or third-party routers do not bypass CGNAT as this is a WAN provisioning issue. Older threads exist on this topic but many are several months old so I am looking for updated information. Thank you in advance.Solved446Views0likes6CommentsInternet disconnects and times out randomly

I got upgraded to new Telus setup with NAH and Wifi Boost 7 booster. Everything is working great except that my 2nd Wifi boost 7 wont work. Its connecting fine and forms a mesh network with the Primary but none of my wireless devices will connect to it. I have tried multiple ways of connecting: Primary-boost and Secondary-boost connected to NAH. Both boost-7 are green and show excellent connectivity and zero issues. Primary-boost connected to NAH and Secondary-boost connected to Primary-boost 2.5G port. Both are green and show excellent connectivity and zero issues. However, none of my laptops, phones, tablets, other IOT devices will connect to the secondary-boost. I called Telus and this is what i am told Telus has upgraded their systems which does not allow them to add a 2nd boost-7 devices for their customers anymore. so if the customer has 2x Telus-Wifi-Boost-7 and even if they form a mesh network and are green, the 2nd one wont work. Customers are now being pushed to use Telus Wifi Plus to get better coverage and pay $10/month for that service. Very disappointed in this. See screenshot of my connectivity below.63Views0likes4CommentsBoost Wifi7 10G port flashing orange
I recently had 3G internet installed with a new NAH and Boost Wifi7 hub. The hub is connected to the NAH through the 10 Gbps port (or so the installer told me). When I connect by ethernet to the 2.5 Gbps port I am only seeing 1 Gbps speeds. The 10G port on the hub is flashing orange, whereas the 2.5 Gbps and 1 Gbps ports are green. What does the orange flashing mean? Am I not getting full 3G speed to my Wifi hub?27Views0likes3CommentsScam Winback call
My 2 year plan expires near the end of May. I tried to renew at a price similar to my current contract but Telus would not come close so i put in a cancellation. Today I received a call from 833 896 0455, caller id showed Telus [for what thats worth} and the caller knew my name and said they were sorry to see me go and was I interested in a special offer. Sure. He asked me what I was paying before, I said can't you see it on your screen and he said he hadn't pulled it up yet. I asked him to go ahead and pull it up and he immediately hung up. I don't get it, what kind of scam is this, and who's leaking names and phone numbers to them that you immediately start getting calls once you cancel. Whats the end game? Ironically if Telus genuinely called me and offered me 1 gig at $60 per month I would happily accept that deal even though its more than I am currently paying.23Views0likes0CommentsUnknown Credit Adjustors Bill Long After Canceling Account
I had an account with Telus Internet and transfered it over to a friend back in 2023. Now, just this year, I got notice that my apparently unpaid account had been transferred over to credit adjustors and officially have a hit on my credit record. Finding a way to contact Telus to get more information has been a nightmare since I no longer have access to this account.43Views0likes1CommentUSING TELUS BOOST 7 WITH TELUS 6E ROUTER
I recently moved into a new house where i have the telus boost 7 router connected to the NAH on the main floor. I have my older telus 6E wired via ethernet (also connected to NAH) down to my basement to help with poor network downstairs. Am i able to operate both routers as a standalone router with separate SSID, without creating a mesh? I am looking to set them up with separate SSIDs so that my devices don't keep on switching between wifi7 & wifi 6E networks. Appreciate any information on how to get this networked as i like. Thanks.82Views0likes4CommentsUsing a Boost W-Fi 6 as a wireless booster
Hello, I have a new Boost 7 that is connected to the NAH via Ethernet. I am wondering if it is possible to use a Boost 6 as a wireless booster in the basement without needing to connect it to the NAH? If so how do I go about setting this up? Thanks,69Views0likes2CommentsTELUS Boost Wi-Fi 7 Buggy?
I recently upgraded to PureFibre 3G and needed a couple of TELUS Boost Wi-Fi 7 in my setup. The goal of the secondary Boost 7 is to replace my old Netgear router, which created a secondary Wifi network to manage the signal conflicts I previously had. I was hoping to just renamed the SSID to my old and all should be working as previously (in theory). The main Boost 7 worked as expected, but setting up the additional one was not intuitive as the "magic" of auto-configuration for meshing does not work and there is no visible WiFi signal. I ended up searching the Boost IP address by logging into the NAH and once in, I was NOT able to see the general settings around "SSID" (or anything else that I could possibly configure for that matter). I tried the alternative method of using the TELUS Connect or Smarthome+, but neither of them had a option or visibility into the Boost 7. It's all very confusing as what I search in Google or in this Neighborhood seems to be inconsistent. Has anyone else solved this or are you all in the same boat? At this point, I may have to purchase a new router instead and go back to my original setup...882Views0likes4Comments
