Cannot extend length of TV Program

My remote is neither the classic or the Android (signed up in April). In spite of spending much time on the Telus help sites and with AI, I cannot extend. I have lost a number of programs at the end due to overtime. There is no Info button on remote, 'record settings', no "at scheduled end time - Change". I think I would prefer a traditional or Android remote. Also, I press and hold 'OK' but do not get record settings.  Highlighting is white, not green. What is going on?
