30 days agoHi Callie, once the port is initiated online, customers porting in will receive an SMS from their old service provider prompting them to reply “Yes” or “No” within 90 minutes to approve or cancel the transfer. Once confirmed and barring any issues the port would go through as soon as it's approved and the account is activated. If you wish to ensure your current number is active until you have your new phone with you, it would be best not to port in and instead just activate any number with us. Once you have your TELUS phone and temporary number working, you can then request a port to ensure minimal downtime.
