Is this a scam?
I recently recieve a call from 888-519-0122 and he he use a email address <Admin edit: removed email address>. He claim he is from Telus retention. He offer me $35 60G Canada/US and ask me to screen shot iPhone setting->general->about to activate an esim. Is he legit?
Thanks for authenticating your account, Chang. We can confirm the rep you spoke with was legitimate. He confirmed he was walking you through how to add an eSIM.

Can you update this post here: a different rep gives the opposite answer:
Verify Telus number | TELUS Neighbourhood
I received a call from this number claiming to be from Telus but something seemed off and I found conflicting information on this site.

GhotiGuy The interaction the OP had was confirmed to be legitimate. The post you linked can be confusing and likely was the result of not finding the number in our directory but not all numbers are listed there. Also, all numbers can be spoofed so that's an added complexity.
Do you recall the details of that call you received?- GhotiGuyJust Moved In
Yes - very similar offer.
- Read me details of my bill (accurate)
- Sent me an email to "verify" that it really was Telus (this could have been simply generated by him putting my email into an existing Telus form)
- Said he couldn't post a comment to my Telus profile - this was the deal-breaker
He did say he hadn't asked for any info like credit card, etc. Which was true - said he wanted to send me a SIM card if I agreed to the deal. But said he couldn't send me an email directly b/c of "competitors" finding out about it.
Seems like if it was really Telus, he should be able to make a comment on my Telus account that I could login to see? And, from what I read online about a data breach, sounds like others have had very convincing conversations with people that seem to know details about their existing Telus accounts.

We've removed the email address to prevent doxing but we'd have to pull up your account details to look into it further. We'll send you a private message to start that conversation :).
