Billed even after I already cancelled last month

I just received a Telus bill in my inbox for May. I had cancelled my plan in April (initiated on April 3, within a week of installation). MyTelus shows my account is cancelled already, so why am I still being charged for May?

    If your account was cancelled in April but you’ve received a bill for May, it’s possible this charge reflects either your final billing cycle or prorated fees leading up to the cancellation date.
