I have just received my new Telus tv+ and I am very disappointed with the remote. Especially the skip function. I push skip and I wait for it to advance. I can hear the audio before the picture catches up. Is this how it is supposed to work. Seems to defeat the purpose of skipping ahead. I would have thought the new technology would be better than the old but in this case it definitely is not.

"That sounds super frustrating! The skip function should ideally be seamless, with the video and audio staying in sync. What you’re describing seems like a latency issue, possibly due to the hardware or how the Telus TV+ system processes skips. You might want to check if there’s a firmware update for the device or try adjusting the playback settings if available.
If it’s too much of a hassle, you could explore alternatives like Freecine TV. It’s a great platform with a user-friendly interface and smooth playback features—might just save you some headaches!"

Yes that is how it works. It did have a minor improvement recently, which of course you would not be aware of.
Try using the right hand side of the wheel, click, click, click arrows will appear to fast forward more seamlessly, press middle button to play.
