Has anyone had experience with false alarms with the *smoke detectors* for no explicable reason? All systems were checked by Telus and we were advised there was no fault in the system. Fire trucks at your house in the middle of the night are no fun (of course this would be super if there was a fire!) Could the alarm hardware be too sensitive - but the question is to what? The detector in question was not 1) near a bathroom, 2) near a furnace 3) near anything hot 4) we don't have pets 5) it was not dusty. So, in conversation with Telus, we eliminated every possible trigger.
Could the Telus hardware just not be reliable? We are seriously considering keeping the security but installing our own smoke detectors that are not connected to the panel. Yes, there are downsides to that, but we don't want another fire alarm in the middle of the night when all systems were fine and no triggers were in play.
Thanks!

Have you spoken with our SmartHome team about this?

Yes for several hours. A tech is coming this week.

And to add: SmartHome team confirmed with us the device was not - 1) near a bathroom, 2) near a furnace 3) near anything hot 4) we don't have pets 5) it was not dusty. So it is a mystery!
