How do I arrange a vacation hiatus for Optic alone? I can only see internet + Optic for hiatus. I need to leave my internet connected.

Hello! Vacation suspension of service is actually not available for Optik TV by itself, with our option being to downgrade the service down to our Essentials/Core service to reduce the monthly cost to the bare minimum. You would need to speak with our team over the phone at 1-888-811-2323 to get this done!

The way I did is as a "snowbird" was to negotiate the 2 year term rate for Optik TV to include the fact that I would not be using the service for 8 months of the year i.e. get a 8/24 = 33% discount on the 2 year term monthly rate offered at the time for the package I wanted. Its seems that as part of the "customer retention program" or "CRP" that the CSA's in this program are allowed to provide discounts like this. You do need to speak to one of the CSA in the CRP but can do this be phoning and saying the you want to cancel the service - they initial CSA will then put you on to a CRP CSA. Of course I do not know whether you check that you do not use the service for the stated 8 months. I do know that to "prove" that I was a snowbird the CSA did look at my internet usage over the months I was away and could clearly see the difference in usage when the Optik box was offline. One could do the same of any vacation period in multiple of whole months (i.e. 1 or 2 or etc....)
