For two years we suffered with Shaw/Rogers - TV cut out every evening at 5:30 for about 15 minutes. Internet constantly cutting in and out. So we switched to Telus Optik who had great claims of superior service. After reading through the forums I'm amazed that there's not a class action suit for false advertising.
For the last couple of months we put up with the internet constantly cutting in and out. We have IPTV connected to one of our HDMI ports and it was impossible to watch. We were constantly resetting the Telus box and the IPTV box, restarting the modem, etc. Telus came out and installed a booster upstairs because our modem is downstairs. That worked for a while. Sometimes. After another month of putting up with this and spending hours on the phone with support people we finally got a technician to come out. Turns out it was a defective booster ("dead in the box" was the term he used) Seriously? We've been resetting, rebooting, over and over and over and it's a defective piece of telus equipment? A new one was installed and we were good for a week.
Today is Grey Cup day and the TV cuts in and out every 10 seconds - impossible to watch. What is it with these companies? It's 2024. Our old cable TV worked all the time - never a problem except maybe during a storm when the whole area went out for hours. Can we go back to cable? This is absolutely ridiculous. Wouldn't be so bad if we didn't have to go through hoops to get a technician to come out and then wait days for a service time.
And we never get a reduction on our bill for services we're not receiving.

hardware is the problem, software cannot fix.
