I am unable to update my email while on 3G but as soon as I connect to wifi at home it works. All other services, internet, twitter, text,phone,apps work while on 3G.

It may have something to do with your mail server settings. It used to be the case where most email accounts would not send emails over the Telus mobile network if you did not use the smtp.telus.net as the outgoing mail server. Try setting it to smtp.telus.net , disable your wifi, and test send a new email to yourself.

To add, you may also want to try setting the SMTP server to port 1025, with authentication enable. Setting that will vary on the phone.

Are you having these issues with a free email account such as hotmal, yahoo, gmail or is it from an ISP like TELUS?

I still have hope.
What I really want to do is fill these threads with as much info/probing questions as possible.
