I was trying to sign up for a plan today online, and I already own my own, unlocked device. I checked out Telus plans a few weeks ago, and saw they offered a plan for bringing your own device, which was a cheaper option. However, today I was looking for those plans, and it seems as if they have been pulled from the website? Does this mean you can now only sign up for Telus by buying a new device, or is there no longer a discount for bringing your own device anymore?

Hi there! Looks like the site was updated. Not sure why but our team has submitted feedback as we've received lots of messages about it. I'd be happy to provide you the info you need if you'd like on the BYOD plans as they are still available.

They appear to have disappeared. I noticed it a few days ago.
Possibly there was little demand?

BYOD has disappeared from Telus online, but shops like Tom Harris Cellular still show BYOD / SIM only plans. https://www.tomharris.com/telus-rate-plans/category/820/your-choice-plans-sim-only/
I deal with Tom Harris, but I haven't been into the shop for a while and so I have no idea if BYOD / SIM only is still valid in-shop. Wouldn't hurt to call and ask. I'd be super surprised to hear of Telus quitting unlocked phone service.

Dec 1 unlocking fees will be gone as mandated by the CRTC. I can't see BYOD not being popular, but not having it does force a customer to "Create a plan" for additional costs. Maybe @Mobility_Princess can chime in with some inside info.

Thank you, I did manage to set up a plan in store with a BYOD plan. I just wish this information was still on the website, as I went to the store blind as to the details on this plan, or if it even existed at all.
