Visiting Canada

Hi there. I am visiting Canada from Australia so have set up a prepaid account mainly for data to stay in touch while on the go. Had the following disappointments;

1) Could only get 1 gig amounts !! Not enough when family are hotspotting in.
2) had difficulties topping up..
3) managed to do a 3rd top up in Calgary.. Then when I had paid the moneys, i asked if it worked in USA to confirm. My friends had told me telus worked in America. However I was told prepaid doesn't work... I'm going to go there today and the back to Australia in 10 days. Telus wouldn't credit $50 amount I had just put on my account in credit....

Can you believe that..

I went to Europe. Bought a SIM as so often recommended. Added extra data. They cut tethering off within 24 hours, and the SIM did not work when I crossed into the neighbouring country. Sounds like your experience is not confined to Telus. Mobility while visiting another country is not easy at all.

It seems someone should come up with a solution. It amazing the prepaid clients pay heaps for there services and don't get the benefits.. Cheers

Yah, when roaming... I pop in an Roam Mobility or ATT SIM card for my US travels.

It works the same way if you get a US prepaid... it will NOT work in Canada.

This should have been mentioned to you when you topped off your account.
