Greetings,
I am very frustrated. Before leaving ottawa, I called Telus and had my phone unlocked. I get to the US and put my sim card (Roam Mobility) and got No Service. I tried a Verdon sim and got No service. The phone has not been unlocked. It is costing me a fortune because telus did not unlock the phone as promised. What can I do?

No service and not SIM unlocked are two very different things. If you put in a different SIM other than your Telus SIM and the phone boots up and doesn't prompt you for a SIM unlock code, then the phone is unlocked. What device are you using? Just because a phone is unlocked doesn't mean it will work on another carrier. I haven't personally ever used the services you mentioned in the US. You need to check what your phone model supports and compare that to the provider you are trying to use in the specific area you are in.
Personally, I use T-Mobile for a few reasons. Great coverage in most places, exceptionally fast LTE data, VoLTE, the best WiFi Calling int he business, and their network has some of the latest technology deployed that we won't see in Canada for the better part of another 5 years.

Contact them again with your unlock request, indicating your previous attempt, and request they wait until you have confirmed your success, now that you have an alternate SIM to check.
You will need to call or chat from a device other than your cellphone to do this.
You could get a roaming package in the interim to reduce your costs.
