Can't send pictures from phone...?

I have a Nokia Lumia 610 on prepaid with unlimited texting (including vidoes, pictures, etc). Everytime I try to send a picture, it says "Can't send message. Try again." This phone is brand new. How can I fix this? Thanks 🙂

To clarify "unlimited texting" or SMS is for just text type messages (words).  Videos and Pictures are excluded.  Blackberry's BBM platform DOES support rich media.

You need to send your pictures via email if your phone has a data package.  I believe that phone has a 5 megapixel camera.  If you are not careful, that can quickly eat up a data plan.

I was on this plan before with another phone and could send pictures no problem. But then I switched to this phone, and it won't send pictures. I didn't switch plans at all.

And the other phone was????

If it was a Dumb Phone or Feature phone, it may have used the older technology to push these items through that network. Smart phones almost all use the data network to move photos, etc. Voice and SMS are on the voice network, and all data is on the data network.

Yeah, it was an old phone (LG Breeze). I guess it was using old technology. Thanks!

You can add data to your prepaid phone, but be aware that a 5 - 8 megapixel photo uses a lot more data than the little photos you sent on the old LG.

What could be affecting your service is the data service, probably Data is turned off on your phone or from the Telus System. If you want to use MMS *Multimedia Messages: pictures, sounds & videos*, you will need to have data services to let it work.

It is a little bit risky because if you dont have a data package and you have balance on the account, your smartphone can use data for apps or something, so I would suggest you to manually turn your data on or off directly from your phone, so on that way if you want to use MMS you can just turn that option on and the rest of the time to keep it off to avoid charges.

I hope you will find this information helpful.
