Did it happen just one time or has it happened multiple times? You might need your voicemail reset. Probably gotta call tech support. Call from a phone that is not the cell phone you are talking about so they can troubleshoot it with you. Make sure you have saved any messages you want to keep. *611

Hi S5, in addition to calling in or reaching out to @TELUSsupport over Twitter, try calling your number from another line, leave a message on your voicemail, then check it from your cellphone, delete the message and wait. This may reset the Voice Mail Notification/Indicator.
