Hey Bonzoandbrian,
As NFtoBC suggested, the only guaranteed way is to purchase a sim card that was designed to work with that specific device. Having said that, technically it should still work, but if anything goes wrong or it doesn't it won't be supported or "fixable" by TELUS and you would need to purchase/activate a new sim card. (Read: Cut at your own risk) 🙂

Spend $10 on a new SIM and save yourself the grief of mis-cutting the card and having to buy a new one anyway.
