cannot find wi fi password

HI.

I am senior i messed up today i reset my wi fi on my Android phone today,my phone recognised my wi fi but wanted a password? how would i find that,i did check on the back of the modem and entered that but it did not work? i am at a loss? help would be appreciated! Thanks

I  use a Motorola Pure.but i was able to find the password i had actually had written it down.i am embarrased but relieved! Thanks mapp68681
