Telus migrating to gmail.

I have received numerous emails stating that telus webmail is migrating to gmail.  They also state that I need to have a smart phone or use a neighbours smart phone to receive a text message with a verification code. Well, I will not use my neighbours smartphone.  I do not have a smart phone. I do have a flip cell phone that I have asked telus mobility to block ALL text messages coming to my phone. Now, the only text messages that I receive are from telus mobility. Are you able to send a text message to me on this phone without any issue, or is there something else that I need to do?  Please advise. Our phone is turned off when I am at home. This cell phone is emergency use only.

Unblock the text messages on your phone for the duration of the setup.
I suggest reconsidering the blocking of text messages, as so many places make use of 2-factor authorization to protect you as a user from password scams.
