I am currently setting up a new laptop and trying to create my telus.net account in Thunderbird as it was on my previous laptop. I followed the Telus thread for the manual install on Thunderbird but I continue to get an error "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username, or password. My gmail account installs without issue.
Thanks for any advice that may help.

I can only say that I did add the new G Suite Gmail account to my desktop Monzilla Thunderbird program. I used IMAP (previously was POP) and followed the Telus procedure. One source of confusion can be using existing standard Gmail accounts vs the Telus created G Suite account. They are different.

Yes I can log into webmail.
Account also works fine in the Windows 10 email.

If you haven't been migrated yet, then you need to set up with the old credentials.
Try the following
Host: IMAP.telus.net with user name & password
SMTP Port 1025 SMTP.telus.net User name & Password
Use SSL ON
Authentication: Password

It doesn't give me an option for port 1025. I've tried with above settings and also using imap/smtp.telus.net.
I've also try tried the procedure as in your link.
