TELUS TV Digital Box - no caller ID

Hi

we just switched over from the Telus Optic TV box to the new TELUS TV Digital Box. We have a home phone and used to be able to see whos calling appear on the tv screen. Now that we have the new TELUS TV Digital Box we no longer see the caller ID showing up on the TV screen. Is there a way to enable this or has this feature gone with the switch to TELUS TV Digital Box?

Telus hasn't announced anything yet. With the older Optik platform, it was tied to one specific physical connection / line. The newer Android TV based boxes are not. They're tied to an account instead. I'm not sure if there's even a secure way to get the phone equipment to even communicate with the Android boxes. There's the older copper phone system and the newer fibre one.

n addition since the Telus Android TV based boxes aren't required for the new Optik, there may be less incentive to bring the feature, if it's even possible. Some users opt to go without a Telus set top box entirely and are using Apple TVs, one of two other compatible Android TV devices (Shield, Chromecast w/Google TV), or are just using their cell phone, tablet or PC.
