I am using Telus Wifi Hub USB (white Arcadyan tower modem). I have connected 1tb HDD to the modem to create Nas. I wanted to confirm what's the max allowed size usb that I can connect. I am running out of storage space and will like to increase space. For me 2 TB will be enough but if the modem supports more space then to future proof it I will go to it's max ability.

You should be able to add the maximum the format you are using allows. It should be many TB. Previous routers only allowed FAT32 format, and were quite limited in disk size.
