Issues with IP addresses not being assigned
I am having issues with IP addresses not being assigned when I have a switch plugged in at a specific outlet. The issue doesn't occur right away, the network will be fine for a day or two, sometimes ...
I have the exact same problem (with the exact same switch).
The only difference is that the switch was working perfectly for 18 months with no issues.
Then out of nowhere, it stopped working.
I tried replacing the switch with a new one (same model) and replacing all of the cables with new cables.
I then tried to directly connect the cable to my TV just to confirm it was working (it is).
So the issue is that the switch isn't assigning IP's anymore after 18 months.
Did you end up finding a solution?
The device that assigns IPs would be the Telus modem so I am assuming it stops assigning IPs after a certain amount of devices are connected to the network. I will have to troubleshoot some more but let me know if you figure anything out. I may have to go into the Telus modem settings to poke around.
