I used a T3200M (bridged) modem with 3 Boost wifi units (expansion pack) for a number of years. One of the Boost units was hardwired to the T3200M. Fibre was installed and the Telus Plan was 75/75.
Have just started a PureFibre 1GB plan. Telus said the 3 Boost wifi units would work on the Boost Wifi Hub they sent. Once installed, only the hardwired Boost wifi unit had a good signal, the 2nd (a room away from first) had a weak signal and the 3rd (2 rooms away) was no longer connecting. Best speed I got was about 120mbps up and around 90 down.
Telus online tech support could get it sorted and sent a technician. Technician said the Boost wifi no longer connected properly with the Boost Wifi Hub and I needed to upgrade from the Hub Telus just sent me (naturally at a cost). He then installed a Boost6, a Boost6 Mini (which is hardwired) and a hub. The older Boost wifi units were removed. Now my speed in some corners of my house is 199 down and 16Mbps up, whereas it was full signal even up to my outside garage before with the T3200 and the Boost wifi expansion units.
Telus also wants to charge $175 for the tech coming out.
I feel like I’ve been had by Telus. Can anyone let me know if I needed all the additional equipment and why would my service still suck?

The older Boost Wi-Fi units were compatible with the T3200M modem in bridge mode, but they may not perform optimally when paired with the new Boost Wi-Fi Hub. Changes to network configuration and compatibility requirements can affect performance. The Boost 6 and Boost 6 Mini are designed for improved performance and coverage with the latest Telus PureFibre technology, but it’s clear the experience hasn’t met your expectations.
