There’s a pile of posts from over the last 3 years all asking to allow users to remove/disable/password protect apps so children cannot just instantly access YouTube and other such sites using the app menu. Sure I password protected the channel but my 3 year old figured out in under 2 minutes how to click the app button and click YouTube- never mind the 5 and 8 year old. It is terrible that Telus has not addressed this. I’ve been a customer for more than 15 years and I’m ready to cancel over this.

We always recommend smaller children not have access to things without protections like passwords, etc.

Exactly- so why is it not possible to set one? The apps feature on Telus TV is mandatory. There is zero way to set a password or to delete them from the menu. You can do so for channels but NOT for apps per your technical support team. Shaw and all other providers have this capability built in standard.

Have you looked in the option of setting up a Kids profile? This curates content to be age appropriate, and controls can't be modified to ensure content safety is maintained. We have info on those here: https://www.telus.com/en/support/article/user-profiles-optik-tv

Yes I have but it appears to only allow me to filter channels and movie content by age- not to disable access to apps such as YouTube. If that option is available can you please let me know how I can make those changes?
